Our Vision

Picture a place where around 3,000 thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient homes sit within a landscape that blends nature, sustainability, and convenience. Just minutes from Stirling, Durieshill is seamlessly connected to the city and beyond. It’s more than a place to live – it’s a place built to grow, to connect, and to thrive, with everything a vibrant community needs right on its doorstep.

Community comes naturally at Durieshill.

Set along the historic Roman Road between Stirling’s Pirnhall Roundabout and the village of Plean, Durieshill is a new community being brought to life by Barratt and David Wilson Homes. It will feature around 3,000 homes – a mix of private and affordable options – designed for people at every age and stage of life. With dedicated spaces for education, enterprise, and community life, Durieshill is a place where people can put down roots, grow, and shape the future together.

Planning Position.

Planning permission was granted on 23rd December 2023 under reference number 19/00310/FUL for the erection of residential development (over 3000 homes), village centre (Use Class 1, 2, 3, 8), formation of open space, landscaping and associated infrastructure works with, (in principle) employment land (Use Class 4, 5, 6), community campus and primary school. The housing element of the application was granted in detail with some other elements granted in principle. The Durieshill site is allocated for housing development and other uses in the currently adopted Stirling Local Development Plan.

Barratt / David Wilson Homes have a planning application which has been approved by Stirling Council pending conclusion of S75 under reference number 24/00772/FUL . This application can be described predominantly as a ‘plot substitution’ proposal which means that the house types consented in detail under the previous application will be amended for new house types from the Barratt and David Wilson range. All other elements of the previously approved masterplan will remain broadly unchanged.

Works on Site.

The works proposed are significant in terms of scale and complexity. The developer is investing significantly in this large scale and exciting project to allow a high quality new settlement to be created.  The developer will endeavour to keep all disruption as a result of construction activities to a minimum.

all construction dates are indicative and subject to possible change.

Community Updates.

Durieshill represents one of the most ambitious and exciting developments in Scotland’s history, a vibrant new village designed to meet the needs of today while safeguarding opportunities for future generations.

Over the coming years, this landmark project will deliver more than 3,000 much-needed homes, create hundreds of jobs and apprenticeships, and generate significant investment in local services and infrastructure.

At its heart, Durieshill is about more than building houses. It is about creating a thriving, sustainable community where people can live, work, learn and connect and where they are proud to call home.

We know that a new development of this scale brings change for local residents and businesses. There will be periods of construction activity and adjustments in the area to bring this vibrant new community to life, and we are committed to keeping you informed at every stage of the journey.
