Commuting
Durieshill village lies just to the south of the city of Stirling while Falkirk town centre is a short 15 minute drive south-east. Given the central location of the village, easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the wider country can be achieved via the M9, M876 and M90 motorways, just minutes from the village centre. Larbert and Stirling train stations are a short drive from the development and offer excellent parking, while there are existing routes serving the wider area.
The entire travel network at Durieshill prioritises sustainable travel and promotes health and well-being - cycling, walking and public transport are made preferable throughout the village and the network connects more widely to established paths, cycle paths and main routes to Stirling and beyond.
Community Facilities
Durieshill will include everything a village needs to thrive. The village core will include a community campus with a new school, extensive sports and health facilities, an adventure play park, and businesses opportunities for shops and cafes. Paired with play parks, public art and open space, the village core contributes to making this a great place to live and grow. And from the community core, Plean Country Park is just a 20 minute walk away.
In the wider village, there will also be allotments, tree lined streets, community landscaping and existing woodland – which is great for biodiversity whilst creating a place people would be proud to call home.
Schools/Education
The Durieshill masterplan includes new educational facilities making up part of the greater community campus, and in terms of higher education, Stirling University offers some of the best sporting facilities in the country.
Supporting the wider area
During construction, Durieshill will create hundreds of jobs and apprenticeship opportunities, and local trades and suppliers will be supported. We understand the importance of community and will engage with local schools, groups and charities through sponsorship as the development progresses.
